Alfred Castro-Ginard is a PhD student in the Univesity of Barcelona under the supervision of Xavi Luri. He finished his bachelor degree and his master degree in Astrophysics and Relativity at the University of the Balearic Islands, where he worked in the LIGO group during his bachelor and master thesis. In 2016 he won a grant to study his PhD in the Gaia group at the University of Barcelona.
In his thesis he develops and implements applications on the Gaia archive in a Big Data enviroment, using data mining and Machine Learning techniques.
He teaches Astronomy and Observational Astronomy in the physics degree in the University of Barcelona.
