Songmei Qin is a doctoral student at the Shanghai Astronomical Observatory (SHAO). She is spending two years of her doctorate at the Institute of Cosmos Sciences of the University of Barcelona (ICCUB), collaborating with the Gaia open clusters team, with Friedrich Anders, Lola Balaguer-Núñez and Carme Jordi, among others. She is interested in the stellar rotation in open clusters, and her PhD thesis focuses on the extended main-sequence turn-off of Galactic open clusters.
