The Milky Way Unravelled by Gaia

The meeting will take place at central building of the University of Barcelona.

Venue

The meeting will take place at the Aula Magna at the main building of the Universitat de Barcelona. The address is Gran Via de les Corts Catalanes, 585, 08007 Barcelona. The building is on the square known as Plaça de la Universitat (University square). Click here for a detailed map.

The conference room (Aula Magna) is located on the first floor of the building, in the corridor joining the Mathematics Faculty with the Philological Faculty. You can ask for the exact location to the people in the front desk of the main entrance of the University of Barcelona.

Access

• By Bus: Numbers: 9, 14, 50, 54, 58, 59, 63, 64, 66, 67, 68, H12
• By Subway: L1, L2 Universitat station (lines 3 and 4 have slightly less close stops)
• By Train: RENFE
• By Plane: Barcelona El Prat Airport

• The cost of a taxi from the Airport is around 30 euros and takes about half an hour.

• Alternatively, you can take the shuttle bus from the Airport (Terminal 1 or Terminal 2) (every 10 min) to Universitat.

• Still another alternative from the Airport, is the train departing from Terminal 2 every 30min (20 min journey). From Terminal 1 to Terminal 2 there is a free shuttle bus every 6-7 minutes (Transit Bus). Get down at Barcelona-Sants stop and then take the metro up to Universitat stop.

Accommodation

Participants are invited to make their own hotel reservations. The venue is on the city centre which is full with all types of hotels. Some recommendations: an University Residence "Residencia d'Investigadors" near Metro Liceu. Early booking recommended as space is very limited. The address is:
