During his PhD he worked on a supernova search at intermediate redshift and on the absolute calibration of type Ia SNe. As a postdoc he moved to Barcelona (Spain) within the european RTN project “The Physics of Type Ia Supernova Explosions”. Nowadays he is a postdoc at the Observatory of Bologna (Italy) and he is involved in the ESA mission Gaia. As a member of the CU5, DU13, he is concerned in the absolute calibration of the Gaia G-band and BP\/RP photometric system and he is actively involved in the ground based observations aimed at this goal.
